A {Sweet} Tween Bedroom…before & after!
Working on this tween bedroom for the past few months has been so fun! It needed a little freshening and pulling together, and I began with fabrics. The lady of the room, a darling not-quite-teenager, felt she needed a cooler place for her friends to hang out, maybe some extra seating, and general updating. We are not completely through yet, but we are close!
Here’s the before of the space:
And here’s a bit of a “during” collage, showing off the recently installed incredible new lighting and the recently delivered upholstery.
**I am obsessed with the small antique chair that I had re-upholstered…using several fabrics and chrome nailheads, it’s an adorable addition to this eclectic tween space!**
And After:
The round chrome and crystal light fixture is both glamorous and whimsical.
The bed is peaceful and serene, and maja feminine.
I had new bedding made in the way of the three euro shams and bed skirt, along with the long bolster pillow. It makes for a fun combination with the existing bed sheers and crisp white spread and shams.
The not-so-pretty orange upholstered bench at the foot of the bed got a maja makeover with this adorable aqua woven in a small pattern. Two smaller bolster pillows now grace this bench too.
The reading nook held a large, brown, clunky chair-and-a-half that pulled out into a twin bed. It’s now covered in a chic grey-blue chenille leopard print. A pair of purple pillows with Greek key trim make for a cozy place to hang out.
Stay tuned as I continue on this fun project for 2014! More updates to come!
