Guest bedroom window Before & After

Along with the kitchen bay window that I shared on Wednesday, I had draperies made for a guest bedroom in the home of the same client.
This room, with its high ceilings and large French door with transom, was in desperate need of privacy draperies.
Here’s the space before my install:
And here are the draperies afterward.
Here, you can see how much light they block. I chose a heavier, creamy linen as the fabric and had the seamstress include blackout lining. If a guest was to get any sleep in this space, black out lining was a must!
The lining truly worked – only a tiny sliver of light was peeking through where the panels meet in the middle.
I stacked the panels off to the sides, and had them made double width with pinch pleating. That way, when pulled together over the door, they still look nice and full.
I love the way they turned out, and so does my client!
The height really makes a difference in this room…the tall ceilings and wide moldings are amazing!
Next on the list, a custom piece to replace this small armoire. The client requested a more dresser-like piece, so I suggested the white washed piece below. We discovered that ordering this piece from the furniture company was going to be maja bucks, so {score!} a talented family member of my client’s is recreating the piece for her. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I have one more room to share with you all on our little drapery/house tour! Stay tuned!
